A Brazilian art director and graphic designer with an American master’s degree from Miami Ad School and Florida International University.
Born in the past millennium into a rather creative family with painters, movie makers, dancers and writers, I decided to follow a professional path that would make use of my heritage, instead of becoming a vet who would cringe at the sight of an injured animal.
In 2006, I received a bachelor’s degree at Facamp in graphic, product and multimedia design. During my last year at Facamp, I developed a new toy based on sea anemones for my final project, while at the same time I joined a startup company which developed games for mobile phones, a new rising trend in Brazil at the time.
In my first two years as a recent graduate, I worked for a translation company which required layout adjustments for each language, a particular challenge for materials in Russian.
My next stop was at a digital signage company, Bridge Content Provider, which became my second home for four years. Digital signage was a relatively new media in the country when I joined the company, but when I left on May 2013 to pursue a freelance career, the videos I art directed were being watched by hundreds of thousands of people everyday in subway stations in São Paulo, the largest city in the Brazil.
November 2013 brought a trip that would change my perception of my surroundings and set a new goal. Entering the USA for the first time with a friend, I knew I had to leave my home country and experience a completely different life. In 2015, I applied for a master’s degree at Miami Ad School and Florida International University, which would give me the opportunity I needed to reach my goal the following year, and bring yet new ones.
Joining the advertising world with a new set of skills, I hope to have the freedom to call different countries around the world my home, while taking my creativity, husband and pets along.
